MASSAGE THERAPY

I am often asked if I still do massage therapy, now that I'm a doctor.  The answer is an unqualified YES!

Massage is an extremely powerful and profound healing modality, providing a nurturing environment where stress can dissolve and pain can be relieved.   There is no reason to not incorporate this amazing tool into my practice.  In fact, I find it a pity that more medical clinics do not offer massage.

Please be aware, however, that I cannot and do not make naturopathic recommendations during massage appointments.  For one, it is outside of my scope as a licensed massage therapist to do so, and for another, your massage is a time to let go of thinking and doing and simply enjoy.  I am happy to address those issues at a separate appointment.

Massage menu

Signature Deep Tissue Massage
  • My clients tell me I have "radar fingers".  I find knots, and work them out, thoroughly but gently,  allowing your body to adjust and let go.
  • I have trained in Swedish, Deep Tissue, myofascial release, acupressure and energy balancing and have combined them over 25 years to create my unique "deep tissue energy work" technique - profoundly relaxing and effective

Medical & Sports Massage

  • Sports Massage: Are you in pain?  Have a chronic hip or knee or neck bothering you?  Are you afraid to exercise because you injure yourself? I have worked with many master class and elite athletes in their training regimens, as well as those who just suffer from "weekend warrior" injuries.  Keep yourself injury free as you take your body to the next level with regular massage.
  • Medical Massage: some of us have chronic problems that require regular attention - from scoliosis to poorly healed injuries from surgery, sports or car accidents.  From mastectomies to knee surgery to broken bones, proper massage will speed up recovery by 30-50%.
  • I have 25 years of experience in medical massage and can get to the root of what's going on and get you back on your feet again.   You don't have to live with pain.
Mother Massage
  • Pregnancy massage - Pregnancy is a physical adventure, with so many changes happening.  A massage is a time to integrate these changes and receive some nurturing attention, as well as some helpful hints for managing your skin and swollen ankles.
  • Postnatal massage - After birth, it can be hard to find time for yourself, but a massage can be just what a new mother needs - a nurturing and restful time out
  • Infant massage - Massaging your baby is a beautiful experience, especially for fathers who generally spend less time feeding and holding their new child.   Come as a couple and bring your baby, and I will show you techniques to help digestion, sleep and relaxation.
Hot Rocks Massage
  • 90 minutes treatment involving massage with oiled, warmed stones and placed stones.  Profoundly relaxing.
  • I received my training in hot rocks massage through LaStone, the original and most complete hot rocks massage training available.  I am a certified LaStone Therapy massage therapist.
